Dear Precious Gems,
As you all know I have returned to my homeland of America. It has been a weird transition going from being here only 18 and half months before and combining it with a whole other culture/language of Albania that I have come to learn, know, and LOVE. I realize that the person that I have grown to become is more of who my Father in Heaven would have me to be. And I am honestly so grateful for that. :)
When I was on my 11 and half hour flight across the Atlantic Ocean, I was pondering in prayer as to what my Father in Heaven desired of me now as I adventure across the planes of my everyday life, with a new and eternal perspective. With time, the thought came into my mind... You know you have done a blog as you have been serving on your mission sharing experiences of how God has touched your life and the little fun miracles that occurred throughout your time in Albania... Why don't you start another one but more about your everyday life...
So I pondered on that and then yesterday happened and I was finally inspired as to how I would use this blog...
Yesterday I was on the porch with my little brother and he was teaching me the song, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". My mom came out and said she had to capture the precious moment... I am so glad she did. :) It was soon after that I was looking up at the sky. It was one of those moments that really touched my heart as I heard my little brother sang along to the song.
Where I was sitting a tree cut into my view and caught my attention. I then began to look down the tree to the bottom where the roots went into the ground. It was then the memory was brought to my remembrance of when I was on the plane coming home and the impression came into my mind about starting a new blog. I realized The Lord had answered my pondering thoughts and gave me inspiration as to what my blog should be about and got me started with what my first post would be about... Me and my brother playing on the porch. Something so simple but so touching to me. Something that filled my soul with joy! And that made me realize then the purpose of this blog...
There are simple joys, we as mortals find, that fill our hearts. I can say that we cherish those and keep them with us always. :) So that is why the question is posed at the beginning of this blog: What Feeds Your Roots? That can be a question you can ask yourself all the time as you go throughout every phase of your life. And I can promise you that as you do so, your eyes will be open to all the little things that bring great happiness into your life. It will also feed your roots to keep you going throughout the hard times (that we honestly all face) every single day of your life.
I know that God lives. He is amazing! I know that I have said this over and over again throughout my whole mission. But I know it to be true. I know that He loves us, HIS CHILDREN, with all of his heart. We MATTER so greatly to HIM. And I can honestly testify that we, as his children, feed his roots with joy as we come unto him every day in prayer. Something so simple but something so precious!
I hope for all of those that will ever read this blog come know for themselves that they are of great worth to their Father In Heaven. He is always with you! Never believe other wise!
